So it’s not quite the title of a Hollywood movie but it was good day of getting out and about in the Greater Shonan Area.
We had lunch in Chigasaki, only a few hundred meters from the ocean so it made sense that the food came from one of nature’s best pantries. See the photos below this section and you’ll see it was all served on one tray, a main platter of sashimi, with a side of tempura anago eel, and assorted pickles and sauces, and a little ceramic dish of egg and mushrooms. A delicious feast and well worth the 30 minute drive and the 45 minute wait.
After lunch we drove into Fujisawa to hit up our regular shopping spots of Bic Camera (Apparently someone intended it to say Big Camera at one stage but possibly as the result of a massive typo it’s now known as Bic.) and our other favourite, Muji Rushi or ‘No Brand’ which is basically an epic household bits and pieces shop 3 stories high with almost anything you could imagine needing in a house. From beds and linens, teas, slippers, sofas, tables, various storage solutions and stationary. They even have a new kids section for baby and toddler bits and pieces. We managed to buy something on 2 out of three floors.
Might have to go back to Bic Camera though as they didn’t have as many flash graphics cards as I thought they would and I wasn’t sure if the $250 or so for a GygaByte nvidia 650ti Boost OC was actually work it. Anyone got any opinion or am I going to need to leave it up to Price Spy?
Dinner was great, as Naoko missed out on the last yakiniku excursion we went out for this delicious table Bbq once more and this time to a more locally owned and operated place. Good times and great food. They even had a picture of a cow on the menu divided into three different cuts you could order. I think the owner actually only opened a shop so he had somewhere to display his collection of action figures and other collectibles. Very very stuffing and entirely meat except for the sauce and garlic paste. Oh and did I mention delicious raw horse served with a raw egg yolk for sauce? I want to get one of these little circular coal burners for my house and then a new fireĀ extinguisher just because accidents probably would happen.
Home now and just enjoyed some Bowmore 15 year old Whisky with Naoko’s dad. Managed to get it in the basement of Bic Camera for a bargain price. It was needed to replace the Highland Park I got for him, that Naoko’s Uncle (dad’s brother) and her brother drank together the day after her dad last went back to Osaka for work. Good times.
That’s all for now folks, off to try and watch a Japanese dvd shop it’s going to need all my attention workout subtitles. Wish me luck. FailingĀ understanding I’ll just pretend like I get it and make up my own story then compare notes at the end.
Oyasumi!
