The weather has been fairly good by Wellington standards these past few days but looked to be clouding over just in time for the weekend and the big party that is the International Rugby Sevens tournament at the ‘Cake-Tin’ on the waterfront.
Sadly great weather on a weekday is right at the top of my list of ‘Things I like about being unemployed’ but now that list has been burnt and the ashes were scattered to the wind! I am now on a mission to find some kind of real life day job in an office where I may even have to wear a suit (though hopefully ties will be optional!). With only one paper to go at Vic which won’t even start until the second trimester I currently have far too much free time on my hands!
As a soon to be graduate I do have that daunting feeling that University study has not prepared me for any specific kind of career so I don’t really know what kind of job I should be applying for, however I hear that the real education begins once you start work! Currently I have only got so far as to start writing up a CV and figuring out the best way to sell my not-so-perfect-but-still-fairly-good University grades track record. Luckily for me it is padded out with plenty of life experience and random bits of temp work here and there so maybe somewhere someone will take a gamble and offer me gainful employment!
If anyone reading this has use for someone who is soon to have a degree in International Relations and Asian Studies that can speak passable casual Japanese then drop me a line and I can show you my soon to be wonderful CV! In the meantime I will keep hunting around and even filling in my time with casual volunteer work!
That was the gist of my post, so thank you for reading it! You only had to read it once, but I typed it twice! That’s a good deal if you ask me!
