Off to Japan!

Hello Readers!
How is everyone enjoying Friday night?
Mine is a little different from usual as I am now in a motel in
Auckland for the night before I fly out to Japan! You know, the usual,
fly to Japan for the weekend, see my girlfriend, go stuff myself
silly on delicious food, see some temples and old castles etc…

Who am I kidding? this is not normal at all and in fact it’s still
quite surreal that it is happening. I’m only going for 5 days which is
not long, I’ve actually never been so far away for such a short period
of time. I didn’t even bring my computer which shows just how quick a
trip it will be!

I have so little luggage in fact that I can’t seem to shake this
feeling that I have left something behind. I only had 1 piece of carry
on! That’s nothing short of ridiculous for me. I usually have my
satchel, a laptop, and a video camera bag, and the kitchen sink. I
wonder how long before the withdrawal symptoms kick in from having
left my laptop at home. I think it may well have been easier for Frodo
to throw ‘the ring’ into Mt Doom than it is for me to leave my
computer on its own.

Visiting Auckland while watching the Auckland Blues get beaten by the
Wellington Hurricanes on TV (That’s rugby for those who don’t know) is
quite an entertaining experience. Not that I would know that the fact
Wellington is winning (has won? I think this is delayed coverage) is
an unusual event, but I’m sure there will be some happy people back
home.

Anyway, hopefully this update / post by email will work. I have to get
up at 5am tomorrow to get the flight to Japan so I won’t be sure if it
has worked until after I have arrived. I don’t think I can use the
Internet on the airplane. At least I don’t smoke any more so it’s only
the withdrawal from being ‘disconnected’ to the net that I have to
worry about and not the nicotine stress too.

Have a good night folks. Talk to (at?) you again in a few days.

p.s. If you have a minute, register to the site before you leave a
comment, that way I know those who comment are always the same person
under the same name.
